VISA error 1073807343 & -1073807298

Hi,

I've got some problem communicating with me device through serial port.

Tried the execualbe on two XP machines and seeing error 1073807343 or -1073807298 returned by VISA write.

But it did worked on the other XP machine when I tried to route all serial port at local to that machine using microsoft's remote desktop.

Unfortunatly that working machine is far far away so I didn't get a chance to test if it also works locally without routing.

Would somebody kindly advise what do error code 1073807343 & -1073807298 stands for?

I googled it but no useful results found...

VISA version:4.6.2

thanks!

tim

Just right click on an error indicator or going to Help>Explain Error.

When you created the installer, did you include MAX and did you include the MAX hardware config from the development pc? If you do have MAX, are the listed device resources the same, including aliases?

Thanks Dennis,

I've build the program as standalone exe file.

And both of those two failed XP machine got VISA runtime and Labview runtime installed .

Then I tried to import MAX config but it still doesn't work..

thank you so much...

So you didn't create an installer? Did you install MAX separately so you can look to see what VISA resouces are actually available? Did you hard code the VISA Resource name in your program? Are you using a USB-RS232 adapter that windows has enumerated differently than your development pc?
