VISA error -1073807346

Hi Sarah,

I tried the basic_gpib_write_and_read.vi but I receive the error "1073807365 occured at VISA write in ...."  I also see the error at the end of VISA read and close.  Please help me to overcome this problem.

You did not answer my question. Do you or do you not have an Agilent GPIB controller? If you do, did you enable tulip? If you do, did you read the article about installing an older version of the Agilent I/O libraries?

I have a Keithley GPIB controller. Still, I enabled the Tulip. Installation of Agilent I/O library is a problem? Even before installing this I had the same problem!!

The Agilent I/O library is for Agilent controllers. NI-488.2 is for NI controllers. I have no idea what is used for Keithley controllers. You might want to clear your pc of everything related to GPIB and VISA and start fresh. Then, go to the Keithley web site and look at their documentation about using one of their cards with LabVIEW.

I don't quite understand why it took this long for you to provide the important piece of information about the make of your GPIB board.
