What GPIB board should I get to run a DOS application under NT 4.0?

We have an old legacy App developed and run under DOS 6.22 and we need to use it under both NT and Windows 98 and possibly XP. We have PC's with both PCI and ISA slots. Which GPIB boards should be purchased?

That would depend on how the program talks to the GPIB. Does it use a custom driver? GPIB.SYS? The thing here is to check how the app talks to the GPIB and check that the board you buy comes with the DOS drivers (or they can be downloaded). CEC GPIB boards come with a full set of drivers.

BTW, Windows XP has had ALL 16 bit operations removed. DOS applications and old 16 bit Windows applications will not run. If you scrounge around the net, you can find some beta emulators that people are working on.

The app uses GPIB.SYS. Will the PCII/PCIIA board work?

Thanks

The PCII/PCIIA board will not work under Windows NT. If you need the board to work in DOS emulation under Windows NT and Windows 98, I recommend the PCI-GPIB board.
