When running resman on a two chassis system can you dictate which chassis is the first to have logical addresses assigned?

We have a situation where we are adding VXI modules to a 2 chassis system. The first chassis has the controller set at logical address 16 and the second chassis is set for logical address 32. The modules we are adding are going into chassis 1 and are auto addressing but use four logical address per board and this will cause the the address range for the first chassis to overflow into the second chassis. If we could run resman so that the chassis starting at address 32 was allocated addresses before the other chassis then this would solve our problem. Is this possible?

Hi KLP,

One option would be to not run Resman at startup.  You can then enter MAX and choose to run Resman on the first chassis by right-clicking on the proper chassis, and then run on the second chassis.  Another idea would be jsut to swap the physical logical address settings on the chassis.  I imagine this would change your programming around a bit, but could also address the problem, no pun intended.

Best,
