Why I read different amount of test points every time I run my VI; and I cannot reach 2500 (max) test point readings?

I read different amount of test points (from 95 to 297)from a waveform on my TDS210 (Tektronix) Oscope every time I run my VI with the same settings. I am using GPIB interface with NI GPIB drivers (TKTDS2xx). I think I should be able to gather 2500 (max) test points, and readings should be consistant.
Your answer will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Are you using labVIEW or C?. Also, are you using the traditional or IVI driver?.

I looked at the traditional driver for labVIEW and it comes with an example program to acquire a a 2500 point waveform. You can use NI-Spy to capture the commands issued to the instrument and compare it with your application. Also check the user manual for inforamtion.

Hope this helps.

Hi DiegoF,

Thanks for your response.
The NI traditional Driver example for LabView didn't work for me because I use Keithley GPIB controller. This was my first question. It has been posted on the discussion forums earlier.
You gave me the answer why the NI GPIB example didn't work for me.
Thanks
Roman_D.
