Why do I intermittently get the VISA error message -1073807343 ?

Thanks a lot Riggy. It works now. However, it does throw the 1073676293 code intermittently.

This sounds different to the error I was getting last year. Any more info on what the error relates to?

It doesn't say what the cause of the error is. I'll investigate further and let you know.

Riggy, I hope you can help me with another issue. I'm trying to use the I/O assistant in either Measurement Studio or in Labview, and I'm issuing a Query and Parse to the DSA module with the command SCAN. I get the full response from the module, but I keep getting the error bfff0015 : "Timeout expired before operation completed". Because of this, I'm not able to get it to parse the output (probably because of the errors). Did you ever have to face that situation?
Thanks.

Hi aeroterp,

I find the I/O assistant quite difficult to use with DSA devices, and can remember that I had to ultimately convert the resultant assistant function into a subvi, then edit that manually to make it do what I wanted. I'm sure about your specific error response I'm afraid.
Attached is the subvi that Assistant created for me, edited by myself (is this what I posted yesterday?) to prevent timeouts etc. from interrupting it.
Try it for yourself - you'll need to determine the TCP address of your DSA from MAX (I think)

If you would prefer to work a bit more on your own program, you could patch it by simply putting an error clause in there. For example, interrogate the error that is returned and if it matches the "bffl0015" case then you can ignore it and continue processing the data. Maybe that will work for you?

Good luck!

Riggy.

Hi, I have seen your discussion, and i am entirely new to labVIEW....

.I am keen to know if you were lucky in developing the  VI for communicating with the DSA scanivalve and acquire pressures.....

I am unable to connect and also donot find any error message.....If you were succesful in running the VI please provide me with it.

Thanks.

Hi Mitra22, were you able to get this problem resolved? If not, email techsupport@scanivalve.com and one of the engineers there can help you.
