Why is GPIB control so slow?

I'm controlling an HP6050A load module with 5 load channels.  Currently it takes over 1 minute for the device to respond to an input from the VI.  How can I speed up this communication?

Hi David,

Some older versions of the NI-488.2 driver may not be as fast as newer ones, so you may want to upgrade driver versions to the latest version of NI-488.2 to see if that helps.  If you are using VISA, you may want toI upgrade NI-VISA as well.  f it is an issue with the instrument itself, you may need to contact the manufacturer for help as well.
