can't uninstall ni-dim 1.6.0f0: Part 1 of 3, computer hangs. help?

Help, I have installed NI-software for controlling GPIB-USB-HS on my laptop and now can't uninstall. The removal tool hangs up at: "removing NI-DIM 1.6.0f0 Part 1 of 3", and does nothing for hours.  I have stopped and restarted windows msi, tried to reboot several times, etc.  there have also been a variety of errors that have appeared such as 1601 and 1368 (?)?

Hey Matt,

I think that your issue is due to a corrupt version of your Windows installer.  Check out this KB Why Do I Get Error 1601 (or 16xx) While Installing NI Software on Windows? and see if that fixes your uninstall blues.  Good luck!
