gpib connection problem with multichannel ldc 3900!

Hi!

I am trying to control multichannel LDC 3900 via agilent 82357B usb/gpib interface using labview 8.6.1. 

While making connection, sometime device gets connected but after some time device gets disconnected from the gpib and again gets connected. 

But most of the time remains disconnected.

Sometime I got connection with an error message of "The IDN string "10.5192" was badly formed and may not parse into individual IDN fields."

Could some body help me to get out of this problem?

Could you provide some details on how you are actually doing a 'connection'? What happens with the dsconnection? Is some error code reported? What is returning this error message? Is it from some code that you wrote?

Dear Dennis,

I have just connected the device (ILX LDC-3900) via agilent 82357B usb/gpib interface. And when I opened agilent connection expert to see the connection of the device, then sometime it shows connection, some time it shows disconnection and sometime connection with warning message "The IDN string "10.5192" was badly formed and may not parse into individual IDN fields." I am not in state to give any command or run any code. 

I don't know, is device malfunctioning or some what configuration problem.

Please suggest me about this problem.

if you see this error only in the Agilent connection expert and if you're using only agilent hardware then please contact the Agilent support.
