Those are graphs in the VI you posted. I have no idea where you got those from because in the original VI, they are error in/error out clusters. In older versions of LabVIEW, the error clusters were colored red. Now, they are green. That's to make them unique and different from other clusters.

Those 2 icons represent clusters that appear on your front panel.  The reason you can't connect them is because, as Dennis mentioned, you can only connect an Error Cluster, which is a specific type of cluster found on the Array, Matrix & Cluster palette.  They are called Error In 3D and Error Out 3D, respectively.
