how to send lin headers

Hello,

I am using the XNET LIN driver and I would like to just send a frame header. How is it done? Do I just need to specify the ID and leave the payload field empty?

Thanks.

Hey biroo,

I believe we discussed something similar to this on your previous forum post:

http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/cannot-see-master-frames-LIN/m-p/2960291#M653...

The header is transmitted by the master when it makes a request. If a slave is set to respond, then the slave will fill in the payload to complete the frame.

Also, you would have more luck getting answers to these questions if you posted on the Embedded Networks forum page. That forum page covers CAN, LIN, FlexRay, etc. and is where users familiar with those topics can be found. This board is for Serial and GPIB and, as such, does not cover LIN and XNET.

Please post your questions there.
