how to use visa in serial communication with the pmb-248 gps receiver? (steps)

i'm trying to connect PMB-248 GPS receiver on the DANI starter kit with the TTL to RS232 converter.. but i does not know how to use the visa for serial communication and driver of receiver..?? i need help  as the steps to connect the receiver ..
