I have an application that uses a hp34401, a CVI dll is used to control the instrument for AC & DC voltage measurement & 2 wire resistance m/ment,.

The instrument is used in the 8840 language mode, does anyone know if there is any significant performance / measurement speed improvement by changing the programming mode to SCPI language?

probably not a drastic speed improvement but maybe a better readable program.

 More importantly you gain code compatability with other DMM's that have the same SCPI command interface, so can easily substitute DMM in the future if you ever need to.
