interchanging agilent and NI GPIB to USB adapters

Hi all,

i have almost always used an NI GPIB to USB connector but i came across a couple agilent ones that i could use to set up some test stations.  Anyways, I figured out how to get the agilent ones working by installing the IO Libraries that are needed from agilent and then enabling Tulip in MAX.  Anyways, when i go back to the NI adapter nothing will work (VISA wont detect devices in LabVIEW) unless I decide to disable tulip and then everything is working again fine and dandy.

I know I can't be the first to want to do this, but what im worried about is when someone decides to move the test station and decides to throw in the opposite cable that it's set up for and runs into problems.

Is there anyway to make this as seamless as possible?
