Hello Nicola,

1. If you have a C source code of the driver, I believe there is a way to integrate it with LabVIEW.

2. I work for a company which has been developing drivers for LEM for many years. The info from them is that they do not support this instrument anymore and do not have any drivers. 950 was in fact made by GMC, but they do not seem to support this instrument any more as well. I am pretty sure they will not have any LabVIEW driver for this instrument as most (if not all) LabVIEW drivers for GMC were written at our company. If you need the LabVIEW driver real bad, you can either write it yourself (using NI driver development guidelines) or you can have it developed, for example at our company.

Regards,

Jan Sima

Nicola:
I sent an email to someone I used to know at GMC, but do not know if this will work. In the meantime, you could try if you can extract the commands from the DOS driver that you said you have.

Nicola:
In general, there are 3 possibilities for Flow Control:
1. None
2. Xon/Xoff
3. RTS/CTS (Hardware)
You have to find out in your instrument's manual which method is supported by the instrument. If you can not find it, then you have to experiment. Also, make sure your other serial port settings match (baudrate, databits, stopbits, parity).

Nicola,
Unfortunately, I do not have any manual for this instrument. Strange thing is that the person from GMC told me that it is not GMC product either. So I am curious who really designed&manufactured this instrument. Anyway, it looks like you will have to use the German manual after all. I do not speak German, so I can't help you. Sorry.
