pxi 8431 not recognised

I am running a PXI 1000B Rack with Visa vesion 5.0.2 and MAX vesion 4.6.1  In MAX the PXI rack and DAQ cards are present but in the COMs drop down menu I cannot see the 2 Port RS485 card and windows gives a message on boot up that it is trying to find the driver for 'PCI Simple Communications Controller', probably reason whuy its not present in Coms list.

I have tried removing VISA and re-installing also tried reinstalling MAX but no joy.

Anyone got an idea?

The card comes with NI-Serial. Did you install that?

Thanks for suggestion Dennis and no to your question because the board came back with a rack and some of my equipment for upgrade from a customer. I knew it would be something obvious but I ended up un-installing Visa and MAX and re-instaling the device drivers this evening from my ver 8.6 CD's, which sorted out the probem.

I have copied your link and will load this in future.
