i need some ideas for labview because i am doing a senior project. please give me project ideas that would be helpful and inexpensive.

Always wanted:

Labview routines to communicate with OneWire (Dallas temp sensor), I^2C or SPI Bus via parallel (or serial handshake) port. Nice if you want to play with sensor/AD/DA/digPot chips. 

also nice: a RS232 monitor you can link in between a RS232 comunication (using two RS232 ports on your PC)

Or try to build a simple Bolometer with one (clear) lightbulb (and a second covered for temp. compensation) and make a nice GUI
