serial port setting

Dear all,

 I am trying to setup a bluetooth serial port adapter. In last week, I had a day which was very lucky that without any problem of using bluetooth serial adapter. I just use "labview serial port example", then I can use bluetooth to talk to hyperterminal in another computer which has the bluetooth serial port adapter. [As long as I paired the bluetooth serial port adapter and my notebook, there is an virtual serial commication port in my device manager, so the communication way is to just use regular serial port communication]. I tried to do it again, but I found out the labview example does not work most of the time after the lucky day. I tried to find out the reason by looking at the measurement & automation explorer. I see that even through I try both VISA and window setting, the port has error. Any clue?

When you say you 'try both VISA and window setting', do you save the settings after you do the selection? If you do, could you look at the visaconf.ini file (usually located at 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments\NIvisa') and see what settings you see for those COM ports? And maybe compare them to the settings you can see through the Device Manager?
