why do we use VISA WRITE

I'm new to LabVIEW, can anyone please brief me why do we use VISA WRITE and what parameters should we keep in mind while wirting any command using VISA WRITE. 

Is it like that we write a format kind of thing using VISA WRITE to WRITE a command to the device so extract data in that format written as a command to the device.

Do you have a more concrete example of what you are trying to do?

VISA Write simple sends whatever string you wire up to it to the device based on the VISA Resource.  What string you wire up to it needs to match the format of the device you are sending commands/data to.

Hard to give any better advice without more details and what you are doing.
