We are looking to phase synchronize several USRP devices with large separation (~100m). I understand that time-varying properties of coaxial cable preclude a solution based on Octoclock sync distribution even with frequent calibration. Is there a preferred method of sync distribution over large distance(laser, fiber optic)?

Hello Matt,
Have you taken a look at this article?
I recommend using GPS to Sync.

Thank you, Thomas. For our application we need phase synchronization to within 3 mRadians, which I believe GPS synchronization cannot achieve.

Hello,
I am not sure off the top of my head.
Recommend reaching out to your local NI representative. They will have a lot of resources to help design your system.
