MAJOR PROBLEM: Building Embedded Porject

Hi everyone!

I have a big problem. I cannot build my embedded project (target: ADSP-BF537 EZ-KIT Lite). Every time i try to build my project, my desktop PC shuts down automatically (fyi, also my laptop shuts down). Smiley Sad

I am using a FULL VERSION LabVIEW 8.2.1. I requested for an evaluation CD of the LabVIEW Embedded Module for ADI Blackfin Processors from NI and I got three CD's for FREE. I got 1 CD for the LabVIEW 8.2.1 w/ Embedded Support, another for the Visual DSP++ 4.5 installer, and another for the LabVIEW Embedded Module for ADI Blackfin Processors Version 2.0 Installer.

Because I was new to LabVIEW Embedded programming I did the tutorial on the "Getting Started with the NI LabVIEW Embedded Module for ADI Blackfin Processors Version 2.0" manual. This is where my problem starts, when i tried to build the project i did duriong this excercise, my desktop PC shuts down AUTOMATICALLY! Smiley Sad

What could have happened? Can anyone help me? Is it possible that NI sent me a wrong CD or defective ones? Smiley Happy

What can i do to fix my problem?Smiley Happy

I did the same blinking lights example via the VisualDSP++ Environment, I didn't have any problems because my ADSP-BF537 EZ-KIT Lite Processor's LED's blinked. So i was thinking that my problem lies between creating a .lvproj file to having a .dxe file in the LabVIEW software.

Also, in the VisualDSP++ Environment I can Manually connect the BF537 EZ-KIT Lite to the software and also check its connection. Can I also connect my BF537 EZ-KIT Lite MANUALLY using LabVIEW? Is yes, how can i do that? If no, how can i check if my BF537 EZ-KIT Lite is connected with the LabVIEW software?

I tried checking the Processor status (just after configuring my target and creating a VDK application without building it yet), it says that my processor is 'DISCONNECTED'. Is that normal if i haven't build my project?

For now, that's all i can say. Smiley Happy

I am very desperate for help. Thank you to all of you who can. Smiley Happy

P.S.

The attachment is a jpeg file of the error message.
Thanks again. Smiley Happy

Hi, it's me again....

I have additional info:

When I tried to open these MS-DOS Batch Files below in the following link my computer exhibits the same problem as building my project.

C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.2\Targets\ADI\Embedded\vdk\bf537\utils

Compiled

Compiler

Linkd

Linkr

From what i understand, LabVIEW Embedded Module for ADI Blackfin Processors needs these MS-DOS Batch Files to be able to build and compile any given Embedded project.

Could this be my problem? Smiley Sad

Also, I tried opening my command prompt through the Run option in the Start Menu and it did the same thing, my computer shuts down.

Could this be the source of my problems?
If so, how can i fix it?

Thank you very much to whoever can help me... Smiley Happy

Hi Jorge,

Also, I tried opening my command prompt through the Run option in the Start Menu and it did the same thing, my computer shuts down.

Does your computer shut down any time you try to open a command prompt? If so, this is not a LabVIEW Embedded Module for Blackfin issue and would appear to be a bigger problem on your computers.

In your first post, you mentioned an error that you were going to attach. Could you please attach that file? Also, I did not see any other mention of the error. What is the error and when does it occur? Do you have any antivirus software that may be affecting your computer? Thanks Jorge.

Hi lion-o,

First of all thank you very much for replying.

Actually i just figured out the solution to my problem. it is indeed NOT a LabVIEW Embedded Module for ADI Blackfin Processors issue.

After i posted my last message, i realized that it must be a virus or some sort or maybe one of my antiviruses are resitracting this operation. So i reformatted my computer and installed all softwares again.

It finally worked! Smiley Happy

Thanks you so much.
