Hello guys,
I don't know if I'm on the right forum but I got some questions about Labview technology. In a few days, I'm going to start working on a project aiming at recording certain data for a long period of time.
My first question is: Is there a Labview technology which could allow me to record several analog input, but without linking a computer to the technology. I mean, ideally, each time the product is started, the technology records data then stops recording when product stops, data are then stored in some memory or buffer (SDcard, hard drive...). Then the product starts again followed by a recording then, once th eproduct stops, recording stops etc etc...Then, after a certain period of time, I will collect all the data and the most important, I could make difference between each run of the product. So of course, it implies a technology with some kind of battery or a technology with a quite important autonomy.
I don't know if I'm clear but I'm thinking about a technology like a data logger. This kind of technology is brand new for me so any information would be much appreciated. I'm also interested by wireless or GSM technology which could meet the requirements of my project.
Thanks a lot
Cheers

Hello Keno,
The project you are planning to start could in fact be done with our Compact RIO Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC). cRIO stand for Compact Reconfigurable Input/Output.This architecture is composed of :
-a real-time controller (Power PC)
-an FPGA backplane (from Xillinx)
-I/O modules for different type of measurement.
This is programmed graphically with LabVIEW.
Please check this link out to find more about this technology : http://www.ni.com/crio
If you are in France, please call our office to have our sales engineers to help you defining the best configuration for your application. They can visit you at your office to demonstrate the technology also. Please call them at +33 (0) 1 57 66 24 24. You can also ask for a callback here :

Thanks for your answer.
I'm gonna take a lot at this technology and I get back to you if necessary.
Thanks

One more thing: I don't have an unlimited budget for this project. And I need to duplicate about 10 times the technologiy, 10 prodcuts are concerned.
Any idea about the cost of the technology for 10 independant products.
Thanks
