Hi Jason,
Thank you for your input. Were you able to get an AD board working with the BF board?
Majerus,
Did you get the "data misaligned access" only when you connected an AD board to the BF board? Did you get an error message when you ran Eric's VI without the BF board? The reason I ask is because when I tested Eric's vi without an AD board I did not get an error message.
Thanks,
Karunya

Hi Karunya,
Unfortunately I don't have the proper hardware here to test it, but I have done some SPORT work in the past so I thought I'd try to help.

Jason

Just an update that I haven't forgotten about you guys. I just got the AD board and started running the SPORT VI on it. I will keep you guys updated with any results. In the mean while, Majerus, were you able you getting an error message without interfacing to an AD board?
Thanks,
Karunya

I tested the BF 537 with an AD board and didn't get any errors (data misaligned access or anything). The processor status said connected and running for me. What type of inputs are you using with this?

I am sorry that I have not replied recently. The "data misaligned" problem went away last week. I have been able to compile and run a vi on the BF for a while now. I include code to blink a led in all of my code so I know that it is running, I am not getting any data. I still think that my problem is in the configuration of the sport port. What I would like to be able to do is write out on sport0 and read in on sport1 so that I could change paramiters and understand the protocal better. I can configure sport0 to output a trasmit clock and and enable the port and see a clock on the correct pins, unenable the port and the clock goes away. I can not ever seem to see anything on the framesync or data pins? I have read the support documents from AD, they are fairly complicated, but I think the answer is there. If you like call me @ 505-667-9493.

Hi Patrick,
I just found out that you are working with another applications engineer on the same issue. Like you said, the method on how to interface the board with the BF will be in the board manual itself. I can try looking at the AD manual to see what they have in there. Can you just remind me what board you are using with the specific part number?

Hi Patrick,
My question was what AD eval board you were. I found the answer in an older post. You are using the AD9874 right? I will try to look into the manual tomorrow and get back to you by Monday.

Hi Patrick,
Since you already have an open service request with NI, let us stick to using that to communicate on your questions. We can post back to this forum once we have a final working solution.
