digital io works with elvis software not with labview

Hello,

I am running a lab using ELVIS boxes. Everything works well with the exception of the digital io lines. When run under the ELVIS software I can toggle the bits on and off. When I try to use Labview8 and create a DAQ for digital output, I can no longer toggle the bits. I checked it with a scope and the lines won't change. Obviously this is a software problem. Anyone know of any patches, etc. ?

Thanks

Hi tlbehigh,

There are a couple things that could be going on here, but most likely you are trying to drive DIO lines that are in use by the ELVIS HW and SW to enable the other features of ELVIS.

You may need to put the ELVIS in bypass mode in order to get direct access to the DIO lines from LabVIEW.  Here is a link to another forum post that discusses this issue.

Also, for future reference, you are posting in a forum that is dedicated to the LabVIEW Embedded development system, not ELVIS.  NI has alternate forums that focus on ELVIS and other academic products here.  You will get much better relative traffic and a forum that is monitored by engineers that know much more about ELVIS than I do ;).

Cheers,
