Add handling of NaN to documentation of min-max function

Status: Declined

Moved to CAR database: CAR 280604

Current documentation http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/glang/max_and_min/ doesn't indicate how NaN is handeled. Please add this

(hint: if one input is NaN, the min/max value is the other. Not NaN).

It is no longer possible to add comments to the page-rating

Thanks for your feedback, beuvink! Comments like yours are a prime way we discover shortcomings and areas for improvement in NI documentation.

I'm curious about your comment "It is no longer possible to add comments to the page-rating." Do you mean that the "Add Comments" link at the bottoms of help topics don't allow you to submit feedback to the NI Product Suggestion Center?

Actually, if you click that link, then scroll down to the LabVIEW Documentation value in the Product menu on the next page, you can still send documentation feedback. The LabVIEW value in that menu no longer accepts feedback, so we added a new (perhaps less visible) value just for help feedback. LabVIEW tech writers review each and every submission that comes in from our help topics.

This has already been reported to LabVIEW R&D as CAR 280604.  I don't think it needs its own Idea Exchange entry, but I'll mention this idea in the CAR notes.

Thank you steveM & Darren.

Indeed I don't think it needs its own idea exhange but I was familiar with the 'report documentation thing' option and as far as I could see it disappeared, but apperently it is only less visible. My mistake.

I checked it and  I just overlooked it, I think I was fooled by the automatic redirect page. Perphaps it is possible to change the first selection list to ony 'Labview' and not all kinds of Labview products & under NI stuff. On the 'documentation comments' page there is already a field to signal which aspect for which the comment is (in this case only documentation). This could be expanded to 'product suggestion' and 'Documentation' or such.

Kind regards,

Mark

Thanks for following up, Mark.  I definitely agree that the option for submitting doc feedback from an ni.com help topic is easy to miss. I'll look into ways to improve the situation Smiley Happy
