Allow Drag and Drop of Images into Icon Editor from Disk

Status: New

I normally have 32x32 png images on disk and have to copy and paste them in (and that doesn't always work well and has been reported).

I think it would be cool and fast if I could just drag and drop an image into the Icon Editor from disk.

I would like this image to appear as the top-most User Layer or replace the currently selected image (as per mockup below).

This would save me all kinds of time! And I'd probably be more likely to actually use images...

I know it doesn't do exactly what you're requesting, but did you know you can drag an image directly to the VI's icon (in the corner of the front panel window) and import the image without opening the icon editor at all?

Off course NI would need to implement this idea before it is able to create this code!
