Allow Find and Replace text to operate on string array constants

Find and Replace text in the LabVIEW dev environment only seems to operate on string constant text, but does not seem to operate on string constant text in an array.

The idea is simply to allow replacing text in a string array constant through LabVIEW's Find and Replace text feature (no scripting please!)

The 'Replace' functionality in the Find dialog does not work on array elements. This bug has already been reported to NI as CAR 50120. It is an acknowledged bug, but NI does not plan to address it due to other issues being prioritized more highly.

Can we still kudo the idea to prioritize the CAR?

I don't run into it that often, but depending on the code This could be a performance killer.

The current Idea Exchange policy is that kudos are disabled on declined ideas. I have added a link to this thread to the CAR notes if the issue is prioritized more highly in the future.

I doubt we revisit this particular issue. It has been a known issue since 2006. If it hasn't been worked on in 12 years, I don't think it'll get oxygen even in the several years remaining before LabVIEW is deprecated in favor of LabVIEW NXG.

Thanks for filling me in with the CAR. I kind of expected that if it wasn't present in LV now, it probably never would be, but it was worth a shot. In the meantime I have a quick and dirty scripting VI to do the job.

I hope NXG reaches feature parity with LabVIEW before it's deprecated...

Kudos!  Wish I could do search & replace on array elements in LV2021 but alas, still not fixed.  Sad that NI has let such a glaring bug lay around for so many years.
