Currently, the Shared Variable Engine is only capable of connecting to the default network card on a computer. As many networks tranisiton to WiFi and many computer having multiple network cards, functionality that allows for the Shared Variable Engine to communicate with multiple network cards becomes more necessary.
For example, this will allow Distributed Systems Manager to monitor devices that are connected locally and monitor devices that are connected to a network at the same time.
