Case structure visibility

When you have a lot of cases, as in building state machines, scrolling around to find the desired case for editing gets very tedious. I would like to have an option to right click on the border of a case structure and create a pop-up of thumbnails of all cases, arranged in a grid which would temporarily overlay the block diagram. You would then select the desired case for editing by left clicking the desired case.

Use the scroll around, just a matter of getting used to, plus it is much faster than searching by image.  It's my opinion.

And see the links there.

I also don't think that I would want a thumbnail representation of the cases, but here are some other relevant options:

  1. Ctrl+Scroll scrolls through the cases. Unless you have a very large number of cases, this is a pretty quick way of navigating multi-frame structures.
  2. The tool linked to in one of the comments in the last idea might help you.
  3. If NI implemented this idea and applied it to case structure titles as well, it might make is faster to select.
