for the code around the sequence, an growth of the code like "add frame"

Interesting idea, but I'm not sure I would ever use it... Can I ask where you have needed this?

What I HAVE wanted before is a "remove frame" function, where a single frame's border could be removed but its contents would remain on the diagram.

with a benchmarking code ...

be able to cut the sequence and preserve the code would have helped me a lot.

and I am convinced that it would be interesting in many other cases.

I've wanted this before. I would use it every now and then.

Kudos.

I also think that this idea melds well with Add Frame After and Split Frame in Sequence Structure.

I think "Split Sequence" would be a more appropriate term. "Cut" could be confusing as it already has another meaning.

Other than that, I agree with fabric - neat idea, not sure I would use it that much.

I agree with you, I had thought of it ... yes, it would be better.

Do you think this function is much more used?

@ouadji:

You make a fair point Smiley Wink

To be clear, I don't mean to say no one else would get some milage from this feature. I can certainly imagine that others might find it useful.  I'm only commenting on my personal use case.

Hmm what to say.

This goes in line with something I've privately wished for for some time now.  I'd like to be able to extract frames of ANY structure (i.e. copy out the code and delete the original frame).  I'd also like to be able to do the opposite: select code (or esisting frames) and incorporate it in an existing structure i.e. create new frame and copy code in.  Yeah, wiring would be messed up but this would still be creat.

I would also love to have a structure manager where we could extract, delete, merge and otherwise edit frames of a structure.  I'm thinking mainly event structure here where it would be cool if we could copy out a number of frames and either paste into another existing structure or create a new structure based on the subset.

I am trying to understand what's wrong with this trivial alternative:

You have been on the forums long enough to understand that wire bends which have absolutely no syntactical significance irritate people.  In that context I think that your solution will be a non-starter for that crowd.

My alternate solution is to use separate FSSs, each with a single frame.

Or that?
