Disable the functionality of the function keys (F1, F2...) while code is running!!!

Status: Declined
This feature already exists in LabVIEW

Its better to disable the functionality of the function keys while a code is running.

One incident i came accross is:

I assigned ESC key for a control and while running the code i wrongly pressed F1 (Which is not assigned to any control) suddenly the Help file started opening and my whole code got hangged. I dont think that some one will need open the help file during code running So its better to disable the original functionality of the function keys just during the code is running.

Hi there,

Have a look here:  http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/F5EE838F982FEEEF86256E800003A2B6

You can programatically disable any key, including F1.

You can also add a custom runtime menu that does not include the "Launch LV Help" menu item.

I think its better to leave this functionality to be programattically changed at the programmers discretion. Disabling them by default could be a bad thing.

I am changing the status from Completed to Declined because Completed should only be ideas that R&D see on Idea Exchange, actively developed on it based on the idea here, and it was added to the product.
