Mouse Gestures

Hello to all

I belive that if LabVIEW can have the mouse gestures feature (as we can see on opera browser),

where we can define some common operation to reform it will be very usefull.

Please let me konw what do you think about it

What sort of actions would you like to perform with the gestures?  I can imagine some:

• Switch between the front panel and block diagram
• Show the project window

LabVIEW is a mouse-intensive application, so I'm a bit concerned that it would be too easy to trigger the mouse gestures since the mouse is already used so much.  It seems to me that Opera doesn't require much mouse interaction scrolling, and occasional clicking.

Even though mouse gestures sounds cool, and is a real buzzword with tablets n' all, we need to move away from mouse interactions, not toward more of them. It's simply not healthy (we also need to move away from 4 button keyboard shortcuts, but that's another topic :-)).

Except if mouse gestures could save alot of mouse moves you'd otherwise have to make that is (like a gesture for inserting an event structure with all the right events already selected and pre-wired ;-)). But for this to work, I think the automatic code generation and BD cleanup in LabVIEW has some way to go yet.

Interesting suggestion though. Lets see what the discussion brings at least?

You can make mouse gestures programmatically, using animated *.ico files.
