Quick Drop Replace Terminal

Quick Drop (Ctrl+Space) should support replacement (Ctrl+P) on the block diagram terminal as well as the front panel icon. The front panel icon can be selected and replaced with another .lvclass but if its block diagram terminal is selected the replace does nothing.

+1. This behaviour would be useful. The behaviour is not implemented in the latest version of LabVIEW (2023 Q3).

The QD replace is mentioned there (by me 😎), but the idea hasn't been posted before..

 

There reason replace doesn't work might be why the QD doesn't work...

Replacing a terminal can only be done by replacing the control. I don't say that it cannot be supported, neither that it shouldn't be added, but that's probably the reason behind it. It would just change the front panel when editing the block diagram, which at first sound non-intuitive, but it is, (the same way change to control/indicator does).
