Replace feature for Enum and Ring

Status: Declined
Functionality already exists in LabVIEW

Be able to replace Enum with Ring and vice versa (as far as the data type is same). The feature to be similar to "Replace with..." feature that is available for While loop and For loop when right click the loop border.

I've already added several custom replace operations when doing a replace with Quick Drop...I could see this one being useful as well.  I'll see if I can implement it at some point.

Of course, the data type *isn't* the same... but I get what you mean. 🙂

It should be pointed out that this already exist today - if you replace an enum with a ring or vice versa (by using replace and finding it in the palettes) the items are correctly ported, although I don't know what happens with negative or fractional items in rings. It just means you have to go through the palettes and frankly, this operation isn't frequent enough that I would want it in the context menu.

You're right, tst.  I just did a replace with Quick Drop on both a ring and an enum and the items are preserved.  So yeah, I don't really see the need for any additional functionality here.
