Undo Tile (ctrl + T)

Status: Already Implemented
Fixed in LabVIEW 2009 and later

I spend time making the size of my front panel and block diagrams fit my code well.  Unfortunately everyone once in a while I will hit ctrl+T when I'm trying to press ctrl+R to run my code, and it of course changes the dimensions of my windows.  I try to undo the operation, but it does not work properly (or as I would want it to).  It moves it back to its position, but the dimensions are all wrong still.  Very frustrating.

I propose that Undo reverts the panels to their pre-tiling size.

Altenbach, I've never used it intentionally.  I just miss sometimes with ctrl+R.  And I have also run into clicking terminals on xcontrols (And regular VI's too) which is really annoying.

That's why I don't have the problem.  I never use Ctrl-R.  I always click on the Run button.

Take a look at Smercurio's suggestion in this thread http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/Remove-Window-Tile-Feature/idc-p/970272#C1828 on how to disconnect the Ctrl-T shortcut from the Window Tile function.

I don't see a reason to get rid of Ctrl-T considering there is a way to disable it.  That said, I really can't see a use for it and wouldn't miss it either.

CTRL-Z will undo the CTRL-T properly in LV2010 beta. I just tried it.

PaulG, I'll get on to you before tst (he's caught me talking about Beta before!), but the Beta should not be discussed publicly.

Actually, in this case, it's less of a problem, because it's just a matter of saying that a bug was fixed (and also because it was already fixed in 2009. Sorry, Paul, I didn't notice that when I posted the link).

THE SHORTCUT CAN BE REMOVED IN OPTIONS.

It's one of the essentials during configuration like turning off automatic tool and automatic error reporting
