Warn instead of failing silently (exporting variables)

Any idea that has received less than 4 kudos within 4 years after posting will be automatically declined.

LabVIEW (2012) can export shared variable libraries to CSV files. However, LabVIEW cannot write to said CSV file if it is already open in Microsoft Excel (2010).

 

Currently, LabVIEW just fails silently if it can't export. A warning would be very helpful.

This is a bug that bit me once a while back. Going from LV project to Excel then import, deploy, export etc. etc. is tedious at best. Anything that makes this process even more tedious needs to be corrected. Also, I can't think of any other program that just fails "silently".
