"Shift+Enter" next row in array for data entry

Status: Completed

Ctrl+Enter inserts an item in an array in LabVIEW 2020 SP1 and later.

When entering values into an array, hitting "Shift+Enter" would jump to next row when entering data. Like in enums and rings.

LV20 SP1?

This doesn't work for me in LV20 (20.0f1 64 bit)?

*sigh* 2020 SP1. Yes. Did I delete the SP1 when I edited? I did. Argh.

It's going to be a long day.

Too late to edit earlier post... I'll ask a moderator to fix.

I also wander about that option though.

Because even if "Lock automatic tool selection" option is on, you can turn off the auto tool (shift+right click, press the title bar, light goes off). That makes tab switch tools, even if "Lock automatic tool selection" is on.

And of course the corner cases (like editing enum values of an array of enums).

I guess I'll see when I install LV20SP1 or LV21.

Ctrl+Enter inserts an item in the array in LabVIEW 2020 SP1 and later. It was implemented as part of https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Idea-Exchange/Easier-way-to-insert-and-delete-element-in-array/idi-...

There's a comment on that Idea that lists all the new keyboard shortcuts. Note that the preference for locking automatic tool selection only affects whether or not the Tab key navigates between array elements (because otherwise the Tab key changes tools).
