Firmware Problem?? Why I cant run my Mindstorm using VI?

Hello,

      May I ask if what is the problem with my NXT conncection. because I try to follow a sample program in Lego Mindstorm Module, and when I

      try to run it with my mindstorm, it says that there are no NXT are detected. I mean the program cannot be uploaded to my mindstorm because it

      is not connected. I used to connect my mindstorm to computer via USB cable. in the bottom screen of Labview VI there is a orange message that said that my NXT is connected but when I try to run it, it said that it is not connected.. What is the possible problem for my NXT connection? I choose the targeted to NXT to download the program. I have the firmware version of 1.28.. Is there any Frimware version for Labview? NXT Module? please help me.. thank you so much..

Weeward-

You are correct to look in the bottom of the LabVIEW screen to make sure the connection is made.  However, make sure it is your specific NXT.

To update the firmware on your NXT from LabVIEW, go to Tools>>NXT Tools>>NXT Terminal.  Then select your NXT and push the “Update Firmware…” button.  This will restore the NXT to factory settings.  Make sure you have saved everything currently on it somewhere else as it will erase anything that is not preplaced on the NXT.

       I have another favor to ask, can you please give me a program sample on how to send a SMS  using Labview because unfortunately I dont have any idea where to start. Thank you very much..

      One more, do you think aside from using Labview to send sms, is it also possible to use Java?' will NXT accept it? if it is so, can you please give me sample program?

        PS: Guys I only have more than 2 weeks to solve this problem because at the end of this month I must present and defend my project. I used to ask my friends and other people but they dont have any idea or broad knowledge about NXT. So please help me guys till I finish this project..Thank you.
