LV NXT with a Remote Control and a HiTechnic IR Receiver

I finished a door opener program that is activated with a push button (i.e. Lego Touch Sensor).  I'd like to modify it so it will work with a remote control and a HiTechnic IR Receiver.  Is it going to be a simple process replacing a push button with a remote?  Unbundling the Block I see that two numeric and two boolean connections are possible.  How tempemental is the hardware?  Is it easily destroyed?

Thank you for your time

Hi,

I cannot really comment on the ease of the process or the ease of working with hardware. However, a good place to start would be Part 4 of the FTC Training Material Part. Have a look at the attached presentation and the examples in it.

Hi Sev K.

I took a look at the power point info that you directed me to.  It looks great, and I am interested in what you sent me, but the power point had to do with the HiTechnic IR Seeker which is different from the HiTechnic IR Receiver.  I bought my nephew the HiTechnic IR Receiver to work in conjunction with his Lego PF Remote (#8885).  He built a remote car with it.  Anyway, do you have a power point for the HiTechnic IR Receiver.  I'll go to that same sight and see if I can find the info.  If you know right where the info is at, I'd appreciate you letting me know.

Thank you for your time

Hi ND,

All the VIs developed for interfacing LabVIEW with HiTechnic sensors can be found on the HiTechnic Software Downloads page. This article describes in detail how to install these VIs and start using them in LabVIEW.
