LabVIEW 8.5 professional and NXT

hi, everybody

i installed LabVIEW 8.5 and NXT Toolkit 1.0 , NXT Toolkit Patch 1.0.1 as well. I use Windows XP. I  did  the Mass Compling too, but it appeared only "Bad VI", and the connection between computer and the NXT was never successful !

Does someoneI know what on earth the problem is?? I will  be very grateful to the reply.

Hi Liang,
When do you get the "bad VI" message? Is that when you are trying to load the terminal? Or is it when you are trying to run a VI?

hello Joel

Thanksat first for your reply.

It showed "Bad VI" after the Mass Compile has been finished. and then I tried to connect the NXT in spite of that.

NXT Modul--> NXT Terminal, It appeared always  "Not connected" ,    and using Bluetooth scanning it couldn't even find anything.

Did it say which VI is bad?  Also, I know this is basic but I assume the NXT is on?

There are so many  "Bad VI" , that i can't show it respectively.     for example:

Directory: "C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\addons\NXTTollkit"

### Bad VI:  "LEGO:setTypeAndMode.vi" Path="C:\Programme\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\addons\NXTTollkit\libraryVIs\Block Support\LEGO.SetTypeAndMode.vi"

I did the Mass Compile  in both cases:    the NXT connected,  on and off.

I suppose even , the NXT Toolkit wouldn't  be supported by LabVIEW 8.5.

Hi!

I am using Labview 8.5.1 Professional. Downloaded the toolkit for nxt, replaced relevant files by copying the content of the nxt toolkit patch to the vi.lib directory and followed the instructions in the getting started pdf up to the point of mass compilation. Everything went ok. My NXT have firmware 1.05. I tried the first example on the getting started but error similar to the attached jpg file pops up. Thinking that it must be error in following the instructions of the example, used the nxt toolkit examples found in the labview directory and click on debug and the same error pops up.

Any insight on making a successful labview - nxt interaction will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks.

EPO

One more thing that might be of importance to my post ... how do you "Ensure that LabVIEW is targeted to the desktop before creating the new VI"?

Thanks.

Please disregard prior post ... re-mass compiled nxttoolkit folder couple of times and the problem just disappeared.
