Parallel installation of Toolkit?

Hi, everybody!

As many others (I guess) I prefer working with the new LV8.20, but have also the 7.1.1 installed on the same machine (OS: XP SP2). After installation of the NXT Toolkit into the 8.20 environment, it seems to be  impossible to install it a second time (using the installer), now into the 7.1 directory for creating blocks, in parallel.

Is there a "recipe" to add it by hand? Any hints welcome!

Regards
Ulf

P.S.: I hope, 7.1.1 is also ok for the creation of blocks? (Documentation only mentions 7.1)

7.1.1 is ok for creating blocks, as long as the first two numbers are not changing there is code compatibility.

When you install the toolkit, point the installation at some empty folder. Then take the contents of that folder and copy it into the top level LabVIEW directories, saying "Yes to all" so it merges the files. Make sure to mass compile the vi.lib\addons\NXTToolkit directory with the version of LabVIEW you've installed it to.

Yep, 7.1 and 7.1.1 are fine for making blocks.

Brady,

Thanks for your help - very simple and very effective, to use an extra directory! Should have been my idea ;-))) I'll keep it for similar problems -  should work always if no heavy registry use is involved!

Ulf
