Using LabVIEW without NXT Firmware update

Hi,

I am student with NXT kit lend from my university and while connecting it to my PC via USB cable, I am unable to use LabVIEW without firmware update. But because it is not mine I have no permission to update brick firmware.

Is there a way to use LabVIEW with outdated NXT firmware?

Dear Tomek,

is there any reason why your university doesn't let you to update the firmware?

Such updates will be released periodically to ensure proper funcionality and compatibility with the newest software. I don't see any reason against performing the update.
