Hello everyone!!
I would like to make some questions.
First i want to say that is the first time i ask a question here.
My name i s George kai i am from Greece.
Ok here it is..
I have a windows PC with windows 7 running system, Intel core duo processor at 1.66 GHz.
I also have installed LabView 8.5 and the NXTtoolikit.
I bought the official Bluetooth adapter form LegoMindstorms. I plugged it in but it seems that my PC does not recognizes it.
How can I set a connection between my PC and my NXT via Bluetooth?? (the NXT has Firmware 1.26)
Is it because i use windows 7??
If i change it and start using XP will it work ?? Or I have to install some kind of drivers for the Bluetooth to run??
All I have done is to plug in the stick.
Also via the USB connection all work perfectly.
If someone can help me please do it and write to me what exactly to do.
Forgive me if a made any kind of mistake using English,
I am waiting for your reply
Thank you in advance George

Hi George,
Are you talking about the Cambridge Silicone Radio discussed here or some other product? Whichever device you are using, if your computer is not recognizing it should probably check the driver. Make sure that it is installed correctly and make sure that it supports your OS.

Hi
Thank you for responding to me.
I am talking about the Bluetooth stick which can be found in the page of LegoMindstorms in the category of products in accessories with code : 9847.
I post the link here : http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/products/default.aspx#9847
which came without any kind of CD rom. I only received the stick and as i said before i plugged it in and nothing happened.
It only flashes a red light which goes on and off.
That been said i would like you to tell me what does " OS " means.
After that , have i done anything wrong??
Do i forget or don't know something??
Are the information i provided to you enough??
Please ask anything and help me to get it to work.
Thank you again in advance and
i am looking forward for your reply , George

According to LEGO's website your device is supported by: " Widcomm Bluetooth for Windows (newer than v. 1.4.2.10 SP5), and the Bluetooth stacks included in Microsoft Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) and Apple MacOS X (10.3.9 and 10.4)."
My previous link seems broken, please take a look here: http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/bluetooth/default.aspx
And see how the device should be seen in the device manager. Please let me know if anything is different.
And by OS I was meaning operating system, in your case it is Windows 7.

Hi Justin_P
Sorry for responding to you that late.
I could not establish a connection between the PC and the NXT on windows 7.
I tried everything i knew and everything i could think of but i could not get it done.
Then i thought what you told me about my "OS", and i tried that on a PC with windows XP.
When i did that it finally worked at once with no problems.
As bottom line; if anyone uses that particular Bluetooth stick
he should first try that on an XP windows
operating system.
So now my problem is solved and i thank you so much.
Thank you.
George
