retreiving coordinates from image

Hi everyone,

I am using a template to build an automated needle biopsy robotic system like this.....

The idea behind it is that I will place an MRI image like this ........

Breast Cancer (2).jpg

Under the robot and then use labview to find the location of "tumor" and make the robot hit the spot with the needle. I am in way over my head so I am asking for what would be the best approach for this project. Is it possible for to get coordinates on a picture through Labview? Thanks for the help!

Hi Dojo,

What exactly do you mean the coordinates of an image? In what format would these coordinates be stored?

Ultimately I would like the user of the program to be able to pick any spot on the image and for the robot to go to this position. Thanks for the help!

Dojo,

The best way to do this is to determine a start posiiton on the image and then use the encoder to determine where the robot is.
