2 network cards and problems with FTP

Hi all,

I had to install 2 network cards in my PC running W2K to be able to talk directly to a equipment without passing through a network with a firewall. The other network card is to transfer the files I got from the equipment to another site with a totally different IP address. The latter site has a firewall.

Before installing 2 cards, I ran a few tests and 1 time out of 5, I couldn't get the files from the equipment, but the transfer to the other site worked 100% of the time. This is why we decided to add an extra card to see if a direct connection to the equipment could resolve the problem.

Since we installed 2 cards, I always get the error "502 Illegal PORT Command" when I try to transfer files from and to the si
te protected by a firewall.

I'm running LabVIEW 6.1 and I didn't find answers to my question on the forum. Anybody has an idea of why it doesn't work? Thanks.

Is this error reported by LabVIEW? Is Windows reporting the error? Are you using LabVIEW to communicate to the instrument and to transfer FTP files? Do you think it might be a problem with the firewall?

The error is reported by LabVIEW "error out" cluster.

I'm using LabVIEW to communicate with the equipment by remote control (TCP/IP connections). To transfer the files, I use the FTP functions of LabVIEW provided with the internet toolkit.

Is is possible that there's a problem with the FTP functions of LabVIEW? Another problem I'm experiencing is that I cannot transfer large files (200 Mbs), I only get 1 kb instead of the whole file. Is there a way to tell the FTP functions to get a file by FTP that is X bytes long?

Thanks
