2 plots on chart at different times. HELP!!!

Okay, here is my problem. I need to display on fixed plot, for example a sine wave. Once the plot is on the chart i need trace the sinewave in real time using a second plot in a differnt color. As of now i can plot the first waveform, then when i plot the second it starts off where the 1rst one stopped. Is there any way i can start the 2nd plot in the same position as the first???????

Hi,

as far as I can understand your question, you have an array with data of sine wave which you are displaying in an intensity diagramm. Choose for your porpose the intensity graph and write to the correspnding node an 2D array containing both arrays which you want to display. This should work. It may be possible that you also have to transpone the 2D array after creation.

Sorry, i know my question is confusing. Here is what i have. A single plot needs to be drawn on the chart, not a wavefrom but just a group of points. Once the plot has finished i need a second plot to be drawn in real time which will also start at point 0. Basically the 2nd plot will come very close to tracing the 1rst plot. The first plot will be an input signal. The 2nd will be the actual position. I want to watch in real time how close the input and actual are. This make any more sense???

Use a waveform graph with two traces. Trace 1 contains the first plot. The second trace is initially an array initialized to all NaN. Replace the array elements with the second plot in a loop as you go. See attached example (LabVIEW 7.0).

Hi dirtyb15,

The polite way of saying "THANK YOU!!" around here is to give stars.

I know that you already have a solution, but there is an example called
scanning chart or something similar. It has a transparent chart over
the top of a graph.
