Would this be about the VI's icon editor or the application/builder icon editor?
How would you get your main VI's icon as application icon the easiest? You cant copy/paste or save as .ico from the vi's ...

This thread (at least my initial question) is with regards to the icon editor. To answer your second question, you could save the icon as a template which saves it to a png on your computer. Then convert that png to an ico using your software of choice. There may be other ways, but this is the first one that comes to mind. I have a standard ico file I use for most, if not all, my applications, so I haven't really had a need for this. That said, take what I say with a grain of salt. This is just my initial thought, I don't really know what's available in the application builder for this sort of thing.

Update on cursor misplacement issue: The problem was icons which are the wrong size. When the icon editor launches for the very first time, it creates a default set of icons. All of these are currently 32x32 pixels in size, even when they should not be. This results in the cursor position being put at the wrong spot. The reason I did not see this in my previous tests is that I had updated my icons from the ni.com repository using the tools option in the icon editor. The updated icons are correct. However this will also introduce another issue. The updated icons use an underscore instead of a space in the file names. This results in duplicated icons on your disk. I wrote a quick VI to remove the extra glyphs (attached below, LV2010). It has not had a lot of testing, so you may want to back up your glyphs directory before running just in case.

CAR 369132 discussed in this thread has been fixed in LabVIEW 2013. For a more complete list of bugs fixed in LabVIEW 2013, check the LabVIEW 2013 Bug Fixes. You can download an evaluation copy of LabVIEW 2013 at http://www.ni.com/trylabview/ or if you have an earlier version of LabVIEW installed and an active SSP subscription, you will be able to download the latest version of LabVIEW through NI Update Service.
