2012 student edition

Question for NI Support. I am studying up to re certify for the CLAD, My cert expired a year ago and I have forgot way too much.

I purchased LabVIEW 2012 student edition from the source I was directed to on the NI web site "Academic Superstore" . The product was delivered via down load. It looks like I may need to re install it on a different PC.  Academic Superstore wants to charge me $12.00 to down load it again, this seems like a scam, I purchased the product.  Any way I have all the licenses and the product is registered with NI, How can I re down load LV 2012.

I'm not familiar with how NI has their academic licensing worked out, but you should be able to just download LabVIEW 2012 from the NI website, enter your serial number and then try and activate it.  If you have issues activating it you should contact NI.

Even though this is for the "eval", entering in a valid license will register it.

This is probably best suited for an NI LV rep but any opinion will be appreciated. I ended up going to MYNI and looked up my registered products to get the serial number. While there I found a down load for the Student Edition Suite. After about a 2 hour down load I ended up with the message "down load complete" This left a zipped folder on my desktop and nothing else. I rebooted to see if the install would proceed, nope. I looked for a NI or LV folder, nope. So I proceeded to unzip the zipped folder on my desktop.  The laptop is recent DELL with WIN 7. It has been unzipping for a while and currently shows 7.5 Hrs to go. So my question is, does NI really expect some one to spend 10 Hrs to install this? Oh and next I need to DL DAQmx drivers, and you know how long that takes!

Did I do something wrong??

Thanks,

Alan

Please follow the steps of the links bellow in the same order.

You can download LV from here:

https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview-student-software-suite.ht...

Please select the option “Proffessor or Student”. After that please follow the next steps:

You will need the Serial Number in order to activate your Software. Take a look at the next link

That is exactly what I tried to do.  See the results in my last post.  I was left with a zipped folder and the install did not progress as the directions indicate. I went into the un zipped folder and managed to force the install to continue by activating the AUTORUN file. This installed LabVIEW and I was able build a simple vi, then I tried to install some of the other modules available, the install started but failed soon after with an error code indicating missing files.  I am going to unstall this mess and start over.
