34970A error on instrument but not in code?

I am using LV 8.2.1.  Serial communication @ 9600 and using some drivers I got from the NI website.  My code does not throw any errors but the instrument does for each time I run the VI???

I have tried delays and configuring triggers, changing the baud rate and nothing is working.

I am using a 34901A card for temperature sensing and only reading one of the many probes it has, does anyone have any advice for me?

In order to help fix the error, we need to know what the error is. All of the instrument errors are explained in the manual. Did you look it up?

My experience with the 34970A and 4-wire PRT temp sensors was that I got an error using the default setting for a PRT but when I set the actual type, the error went away.  I'm assuming that you get an error (red light) on the front panel of the 34970A and Labview doesn't report anything.

In order for LabVIEW to report something, call the error query function that is in the driver. You could also query the instrument in MAX. I believe the command is ERR?

I finally found the code.  "+111, "Channel list: slot number out of range"

I have it in slot 1 and am measuring channel 101.  Both of these values I have wired to the drivers.  I am sure this would easily be fixed if I had the manual but I do not.  If anyone can link me to a copy I would appreciate it.  I came up empty on agilents website.

Thanks for the replies so far.

The website is www.agilent.com. At the top of the page is a search box. Search for 34970. When the search results appear, click on the Manuals link. You will want the Users Manual.

34970A manuals can be found here.

Thanks for the manual link.  I checked my command and it seems fine:  MEAS:TEMP? TC,J (@101)  I am stumped on why it throws an error.  I will keep reading the manual.  Perhaps I need to use the configure command first.

Analog- I actually had a typo.  I had the comma in there correctly and still get the error.  Thx.
