Hi, I’m trying to generate a 4-20mA signal using my NI6341to inject/test a 3rd party wireless general purpose interface. Now I know I can’t fully do this with my daq as the max single current drive from a single AO is 5mA. Howver even if I was able to provide a static 4 or 5mA signal this would suffice.
I have a high accuracy 250ohm resistor on AO0 and have set my full scale voltage output to 1.25V on the analogue task expecting to be able to measure 5mA using a DVM in the circuit, i have my dvm in serires between AO0 and the anode of teh resitor, the other leg of of the resistor is connnected to AO GND. however im not measuring anything, the voltage is spot on, however for some reason I’m registering 0A.
Any ideas?

resloved it, it was just the fuse in my DVM that was gone! all sorted now.
